Only groups with Not-for-profit status are eligible to book school gymnasiums. Due to the 'Joint Use Agreement' we have specific guidelines for rentals at the local school gymnasiums. Recreation & Culture is the booking office for the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division and Lethbridge Public School Division gymnasiums.
Gymnasiums can be rented for a variety of activities in the evenings and on weekends.

On behalf of the City of Lethbridge, we wanted to make you aware of a developing scenario that is beyond our control but may have a significant impact on gymnasium bookings in the weeks to come.
Both the Lethbridge School Division and Holy Spirit Catholic School Divisions are in contract negotiations with their support staff workers (which includes all caretaking staff).
Currently, we have no further information on any potential work stoppage actions and gymnasium bookings are continuing with no changes to services.
However, we have been made aware that there is potential for a work stoppage that could occur sometime this spring. We want your organizations to be aware of the impact this would have on your bookings at any and all gymnasiums within the Lethbridge School Division and/or Holy Spirit Catholic School Division gyms located within the city.
Once a work stoppage, such as a strike, comes into effect, ALL bookings would be automatically cancelled until such time as the disruption is over. This is because caretakers, who are a mandatory requirement for any booking to occur at the schools, would not be available for any gymnasium bookings.
As the City does not own or operate any other gymnasiums (with availability), we would not be able to offer alternative locations for bookings during any potential work stoppage. Again, this potential scenario is beyond our control.
In this instance, cancellations would be refunded in full (or left as a credit on account if requested) for any bookings cancelled due to strike action.
